A committee member’s experience
“Joining the Management Committee is a wonderful opportunity to put something back into our community and be involved in your child’s educational and social life. I was invited along by a friendly parent and originally took the Grants Officer role, which involved submitting funding applications to purchase new equipment. I quickly became involved in the physical environment that my child was playing in and started working with teachers on ways of improving it. Along the way I have met wonderful parents, and in 2008 took on the role of President (which to me is a big honour). I have also learned new skills (great for the C.V!) and I feel like I have helped make a difference.
Management Committee meetings happen monthly and follow an agenda, however we enjoy a few laughs along the way. The current committee members are a diverse team of caring committed parents who are doing a wonderful job of helping make our kindy a GREAT place for our children to learn and play. The meeting Minutes are always on the board along with the Agenda – if you are able, why not come along, you are welcome.”
